MISSION STATEMENT:

It is the mission of the MNPS Plant Operations and Maintenance Services Department to provide school environments that are clean, safe and conducive for learning.

VISION STATEMENT:  

It is the vision of the MNPS Plant Operations and Maintenance Services Department to provide a service to all schools that supports the learning environment and efficient in response.

OPERATION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Operations Department has the general responsibility for overseeing custodian training and quality control through coordination with school principals/facility managers and the monitoring of the custodian supplies & equipment budgets. The department has 6 Custodian Inspectors under the direction of the Director of Operations. These inspectors consult with principals/facility managers regarding custodian needs and assist them as possible. The department is also responsible for general grounds maintenance to include mowing, trimming, nursery, playground repair, water line repair, fencing, driveways or any other exterior repairs necessary.

The Operations Department monitors various general waste disposal, pest control, gym refinishing, dust mop, pavement custodial, cleaning supplies, and grease interceptor pumping contracts.
