PARENT-TEACHER COMMUNICATIONS

Parents are encouraged to contact teachers whenever they have questions about their child’s program or progress.  Parents wishing to contact a teacher may call the school office during school hours and leave a message for the teacher.  We also encourage parents to use the voice mail system to leave messages for teachers. Likewise, teachers may contact parents when they feel that student progress or conduct is in need of improvement.  This may be done through the use of progress reports (sent home with ALL students the fourth week of each nine weeks), notices of concern mailed home, or phone calls to the parent. Additionally, parents and teachers may utilize email as a form of communication. Each teacher has a metro Nashville public school email account.  The email address for each MNPS employee is his/her first name.last name@mnps.org. For instance, George Washington’s email account would be george.washington@mnps.org.
